FOOTWEAR CARE TIPS

The amount of satisfaction you receive from you footwear depends largely on the continual proper care and maintenance. The top quality full-grain leather used in our footwear is soft, pliable, and durable. Good leather breathes to ventilate your feet and allow you more comfort. The following suggestions for proper footwear care will help lengthen the life of your boots & shoes.

KEEP THEM CLEAN... A hard day's work will clog up your boots' ventilating pores. After each day, give your boots a 30 second rubdown with a damp cloth to wash away acids, soil, and/or chemicals.

DRY THEM SLOW & EASY... Never expose your leather footwear to a direct heat source, such as a stove or radiator furnace. The leather will become very dry and brittle, not to mention the possibility of shrinking. Place them on their sides in an open air spot and dry them at room temperature. We also recommend the use of Shoe Dryer.

LEATHER CARE... There are 3 basic types of leather, each requiring different types of treatment (Oil-Tanned, Dry-Tanned & Polished). All 3 should be treated at least once a month preferably twice a month. This will help keep them soft and pliable. Use a mink oil or boot oil on Oil-tanned leathers. Use a silicone spray or dauber for Dry-tanned leathers. Use a shoe cream in the appropriate color for Polished leathers. Each care product should give directions for application, we recommend that you follow them.
